Overfed & Undernourished
Series 1
Appetizers are greatttt. Don't get me wrong (Me + Calamari go together real bad) but that’s not the point. The point is stop getting full off of bread and butter.
What’s wrong with Bread & Butter?
Nothing….per se!
I mean if we’re talking flavor, it’s absolutely delicious. It’s universally eaten and globally recognized. It’s indulged during many customs and occasions. It’s apart of our history. It’s also easy to satisfy your tastebuds and most importantly; easy to consume (much like the world we live in pertaining to the mass consumption of media; amongst a list of other things but I digress.)
Oops!!! Did I say too much?

Let’s rip the bandaid off shall we :)
Once consumed, bread quickly fills your stomach; but not necessarily your body. It is easy to “feel full” which is confusing. I mean you feel fulfilled and somewhat stimulated…Right???
Congratulations you’ve actually just tricked yourself out of a meal. Bread and butter are meant to hold you over, NOT sustain you!!! Yet somehow, we get stuck there. Reaching for more bread. Another basket. Another scroll.
“You’re not hungry anymore, you’re just occupied”
The longer you read the menu “social media” the more scattered your focus becomes. Eyes jumping from page to page. Everyone else’s “plate” looks and smells amazing. Seasoned to perfection if you will. There’s a luxury trip here. Throw in a “Soft life” aesthetic there. Oh don’t forget the “Follow me if you want Financial Freedom before 35”. It is Tuesday, so be on the lookout for that Generational Wealth photo that will shortly be uploaded before noon. Like be sooooo for real right now. We want financial freedom, so we watch millionaires buy their fifth property on the Amalfi Coast; all while we’re calculating how to stretch a paycheck into the next pay cycle. It’s filler. No,Like…Seriously!!! Do you see what I’m getting at?
Preface: Let me be clear, you are worthy and capable of living a life you dream of.
Just be mindful not to OVER consume someone else’s life, because it distracts you from being present in your very own. When you close the app(s), the table is still yours.
Your choices. Your habits. Your hunger. There’s a meal being prepared with your name on it with real substance and robust ingredients. Don’t convince yourself you aren’t ready for it.Can an Appetizer be your meal?
Sure if you’re okay with leaving hungry.

Was that shady? Lol
An appetizer is meant to tease, not to satisfy. It awakes the senses, flirts with your appetite in a sense. It’s an enjoyable yet subtle reminder that something better is on the way. Relate this to your own life.
The problem isn’t the appetizer, mistaking it as your meal is.
A meal asks for more of you. It requires your patience and willingness to sit with things while they curate. It has depth, flavors that may not instantly reveal themselves all at once. You don’t rush it because you need everything it has to offer.
An appetizer simply doesn’t hold the same weight. It was never created for the “heaviness” that life may carry. Life is layered.
-It’s a combination of your student loans piling up and still having ambition.
-It’s Healing and Responsibility.
-It’s wanting more while trying to stay grateful for what is.
-It’s figuring yourself out without a blueprint and realizing that no one else can save you.
Social media skips a lot of steps. It shows you the highlights without the history. The outcome without the chapters it took to get there & if you’re not careful, you start measuring your progress against the person on the other side of your screen.
So you scroll+Compare+Absorb
Leaving your true focus and purpose unresolved. Leaving you both full and empty at the same time. Ain’t that some sh*t!!!
The nourishment you’re looking for; the clarity, the confidence, the peace…It doesn’t come from watching someone else live “well”. It comes from tending to your own life. Be gentle, kind, and patient with yourself. Expand your horizons past the appetizers. Far beyond what bread and butter can offer. Figure out what you need specifically to FILL YOU!!!
If this resonated with you, stay at the table. This series is just getting started.

I love this!
the type of bread we are consuming at these restaurant’s is made of wheat and flour stripped of its nutrients nowadays. An example of how consumerism and prioritizing profits robs us of valuable nutrients and substance.
Sourdough on the other hand, a ‘living bread’(Jesus is also referred to as the Living Bread) is nutritious and wont give you the bloating.
If we return to the living bread spiritually we can find ourselves again instead of being in a cycle of comparison and unsatisfaction in our lives
